Bucca (Cornish) is a male, shape-shifting, trouble-making sea-spirit in Cornish folklore, a merman, that inhabited mines and coastal communities as a hobgoblin during storms. A merman is a mythological aquatic creature with the upper body of a human man and the lower body of a fish. The term is a portmanteau of "man" and "mermaid".
